This is an Adidas Libya national team 2021-22 home jersey featuring the number of star winger Hamdou Elhouni.
Despite experiencing widespread political instability in recent years, Libya have defied the odds and achieved some of their best results during this time. Their greatest achievement was winning the 2014 African Nations Championship (CHAN), where they upset Ghana in the final. They later finished in 4th place at CHAN in 2018, losing the semi-final 3-1 in extra-time to eventual winners Morocco. In addition, they have qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations on three occasions- in 1982, 2006 & 2012, with the team finishing runners-up as hosts of the 1982 edition
Hamdou Elhouni has been a key member of the Libya national team squad since debuting for ‘The Mediterranean Knights’ in 2014. He has played a total of 37 international matches, scoring 4 goals and assisting many more. At club level, he has played the majority of his club football in Portugal since joining Primeira Liga club Vitória de Setúbal from Libyan giants Al-Ahli Tripoli. From there, he signed for Portuguese powerhouse Benfica, however had limited game time there and was loaned out to G.D. Chaves for much of the time he was signed to Benfica. In 2018, he signed to fellow Primeira Liga club C.D. Aves and after a solid season moved again to Tunisian club Espérance Sportive de Tunis, one of the strongest in Africa. At Espérance, he was a member of the squad that won the 2019 CAF Champions League final.
