After continued protests from fans, Gaddafi ordered the Al-Ahly training ground and team offices to be destroyed in addition to giving the club an indefinite ban. Al-Ahly didn’t return to the field again until 2005, however they have since become one of Libya’s strongest clubs and finished second in the most recent league season.
