Western Australia 2018-19 Home (#9- SALMON) Jersey/Shirt

£29.99

This is a Nike Western Australia state football team 2018-19 home jersey featuring the number of striker Alex Salmon.

The Western Australia state football team represents the Australian state of Western Australia and largely competes in one-off fixtures against local or international opponents. The WA State Team has a long history, having played their first match in 1902 against a visiting England Cricket XI team. This match pre-dates the first match played by the Australia national team by 20 years, with Australia not making their international debut until 1922. Over the years, the WA State Team has taken on some of the giants of the game – including Manchester United, Everton, Chelsea, Roma and AC Milan. The majority of their recent matches have been against A-League club Perth Glory, with the semi-professional Western Australia team defeating their professional opponents on several occasions.

Alex Salmon began his career in his native England with League Two club Carlisle United in 2013. After stints with several other lower league clubs in England, he made the move to Australia in 2016 signing with Perth-based NPL club Armadale SC. Salmon established himself as one of the top strikers in Australian football outside the A-League after signing for fellow Perth-based NPL side Inglewood United in 2017. He won back-to-back golden boots in the 2017 & 2018 seasons with Inglewood before joining Melbourne-based NPL club Green Gully SC in 2019, where he scored 21 goals in his debut season at the club.
