Uzbekistan have established themselves as the most successful national team in Central Asia since their first international match as an independent nation in 1992. They made history in 2025 by qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will mark their first appearance at the tournament. This result is built upon years of continual improvement, with Uzbekistan having qualified for every AFC Asian Cup since 1996, where they have progressed past the group stages in the past five tournaments.
