This is an Adidas United Arab Emirates national team 2026 away jersey featuring the name and number of star winger Yahya Al-Ghassani.
The UAE national team achieved some success in the 1990s by qualifying for the 1990 World Cup and finishing second in the 1996 Asian Cup, however since then the team had struggled many years before rising again in 2015. This tournament saw them stun defending champions Japan in the Quarter-Finals with a victory on penalties before losing to eventual champions Australia in the semi-finals to finish in 3rd place. They followed this up with a 4th place finish as they hosted the 2019 Asian Cup, however since then their progress has been limited with the UAE struggling to replace their ageing golden generation from the 2015 era.
Yahya Al-Ghassani has established himself as one of the UAE's leading attacking players in recent years. Born in Sharjah, he developed through the youth systems of Al Ahli and Al Wahda before making his professional debut in the UAE Pro League for Al Wahda in 2018. After three seasons, he joined local powerhouse Shabab Al Ahli in 2021, where he played a key role in the club winning multiple domestic honours. Al-Ghassani made his senior debut for the UAE national team in 2022 and quickly became a regular member of the national side, featuring at the 2023 AFC Asian Cup and playing an important role in the UAE's subsequent international campaigns. He has scored 12 goals in 40 matches for the UAE, with the 28-year-old set to be a key part of their push for a FIFA World Cup berth in the coming years.
