Trinidad & Tobago 2021 Home (#8- HYLAND) Jersey/Shirt

£29.99

This is a Joma Trinidad & Tobago national team 2021 home jersey featuring the name and number of star midfielder Khaleem Hyland.

Khaleem Hyland has been one of the few Trinidadian footballers to play at a high level in Europe over the past decade. The 32-year-old began his senior club career with TT Pro League side San Juan Jabloteh in 2007 and was signed by then English Premier League club Portsmouth in September 2008. Hyland never made an appearance for Portsmouth as he was unable to get a work permit and was loaned to Belgian First Division A club Zulte Waregem in early 2009, with the club later signing him on a permanent basis. In 2011 he joined Belgian giants KRC Genk, where he remained for 4 seasons before joining fellow Belgian club Westerlo in 2015. Since 2017, Hyland has played in the Saudi Pro League, firstly with Al-Faisal and now with current club Al-Batin. At international level, Hyland has been a key member of the Trinidad & Tobago national team since debuting in 2008. He has won 92 caps for the Soca Warriors, making him the 6th most capped player in the history of the team.

The Trinidad & Tobago national team have a proud history with periods of great success. They played their first international match in 1905 and have consistently been one of the strongest teams in the Caribbean regions. The strongest period throughout their history was the 2000s, which saw the Soca Warriors finish 3rd in the 2000 CONCACAF Gold Cup, reach an all-time high FIFA ranking of 25 in June 2001 and qualify for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Despite coming into the 2006 World Cup as the smallest nation to ever qualify for the tournament, Trinidad & Tobago shocked a strong Sweden team with a 0-0 and had competitive losses to England and Paraguay. Their squad at the time included many of the national teams’ greatest-ever players including Dwight Yorke, Carlos Edwards, Kenwyne Jones and Shaka Hislop. The team have never been able to come close to these achievements since this golden era and have achieved little success in recent years.
