Seychelles 2023 Home (#2- WAYE-HIVE) Jersey/Shirt

£29.99

This is an Adidas Seychelles national team 2023 home jersey featuring the number of star winger Gervais Waye-Hive.

Seychelles are traditionally one of the weakest national teams in African football and the small island nation with a population of only 94,000 has achieved little success since becoming a FIFA member in 1986. The strongest period for the team was in the mid-2000s, where they reached an all-time high FIFA ranking a 129 and achieved a famous victory against their far more fancied opponents of Zimbabwe. Arguably the greatest achievement for the team nicknamed ‘The Pirates’ was their 2011 Indian Ocean Games title, where legendary striker Kevin Betsy led them to their maiden title as they defeated Mauritius in the final.

Gervais Waye-Hive has been one of the leading players in Seychellois football over the past decade, with the 35-year-old winger having been prolific at both club and international level. He has played the entirety of his club football in the Seychelles Premier League, most notably with local giants St. Michel United and St. Louis FC. Since first appearing at senior level in the domestic league in 2007, Waye-Hive has won the league title 6 times and remains one of the top players in the Seychelles. At international level, Waye-Hive has played 48 matches and scored 6 goals for the Seychelles since his debut in 2012 and ranks as both the 2nd most-capped player and 2nd top goalscorer in the history of the Seychelles national team.
