Saint Barthélemy is an overseas collectivity of France in the Caribbean with a population of approximately 10,000. Previously the island formed part of Guadeloupe, however chose to succeed and form a separate region in 2003.
Although they would be eligible to join CONCACAF, Saint Barthélemy are currently not members of the confederation, however they do regularly play friendly matches against other national teams from the region. They have recently developed a rivalry against fellow French collectivity Saint Martin, winning the past two matches against their larger neighbors. Saint Barthélemy are repeatedly seeking to join CONCACAF as an associate member in the near future, which is set to continue the development of football on the island.
