This is a Joma Maldives national team 2015-17 home jersey featuring the number of star striker Ali Ashfaq.

Maldives are usually considered one of Asia’s weaker teams and have never qualified for a major tournament, however they have achieved some noteworthy successes for a nation that has a population of only about 500,000. Their best achievements at international level are winning the SAFF Championship title in 2008 & 2018, defeating their much larger rivals of India in the final on both occasions. 

Ali Ashfaq is arguably Maldives’ greatest-ever footballer and is also considered one of the best players in the South Asian region. The 36-year-old has played for a number of different clubs throughout his illustrious career, spending the majority of his career in the Maldives Premier League as well as spells in Malaysia and Brunei. At international level, he is the all-time leading scorer for the national team with 57 goals from 89 matches.
