£34.99
This is an Adidas Madagascar national team 2018-19 away jersey featuring the number of star striker Faneva Imà Andriatsima.
Madagascar’s national team were traditionally one of the lowest-ranked teams in Africa, reaching an all-time low FIFA ranking on 190 in March 2014. In recent years however, they have improved dramatically, culminating in their historic qualification for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, which was their maiden AFCON appearance. Despite low expectations coming into the tournament, Madagascar pulled off some of the greatest upsets in AFCON history and finished 1st in their group after an incredible 2-0 victory against Nigeria. From there, they defeated DR Congo on penalties in the Round of 16, however were unable to make it past the Quarter-Finals after a 3-0 loss to Tunisia.
Andriatsima has been one of Madagascar’s top footballers for many years and has spent the majority of his club career in France, playing mostly in Ligue 2. He has played for clubs such as Nantes, Créteil, Sochaux, Le Havre and Clermont. In 2019 he moved to Saudi Arabia and joined Abha FC, where he played one season before moving to fellow Saudi club Al-Fayha. He is the all-time leading scorer for the Madagascar national team with 14 goals in 47 international matches and he has played an important role in the development of football on the island.
