£34.99
This is an Adidas Libya national team 2015-17 home jersey featuring the number of star defender Mohamed El Monir.
Despite experiencing widespread political instability in recent years, Libya have defied the odds and achieved some of their best results during this time. Their greatest achievement was winning the 2014 African Nations Championship (CHAN), where they upset Ghana in the final. They later finished in 4th place at CHAN in 2018, losing the semi-final 3-1 in extra-time to eventual winners Morocco. In addition, they have qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations on three occasions- in 1982, 2006 & 2012, with the team finishing runners-up as hosts of the 1982 edition.
El Monir is one of Libya’s most prominent footballers and is one of their few players to be playing professionally at a high level outside of Africa. He began his club career at Libyan giants Al-Ittihad Tripoli before playing in Europe for Dinamo Minsk and Partizan Belgrade. From there, El Monir spent several years in the MLS with Orlando City and Los Angeles FC before returning to Al-Ittihad Tripoli in 2021. El Monir debuted for Libya in 2012 and has been a regular member of the national team since then, having played 27 international matches and scoring 3 goals.
