£29.99

This is a Macron Kenya national team 2019-20 third jersey featuring the name and number of star midfielder Victor Wanyama.

Victor Wanyama is arguably the greatest player in the history of Kenyan football and has had a prolific club career playing predominantly in the English Premier League. Wanyama first established himself with Beerschot AC in Belgium having joined the club in 2008. In 2011, he was signed by Scottish giants Celtic and soon became one of Europe’s most sought-after young midfielders. After two strong seasons with Celtic, he joined Southampton in 2013, making him the first Kenyan to ever play in the EPL. He played three seasons with Southampton before joining league powerhouse Tottenham Hotspur in 2016. He quickly became a key part of the Tottenham squad, however was hindered by injuries in the latter years of his time at the time, eventually departing in 2019 and signing with MLS club Montreal Impact. At international level, he has played 64 matches for Kenya since his debut in 2007 and has captained the national team since 2013.

Kenya’s national team are one of the oldest in Africa, having played their first international match in 1926. Despite their long history, a relatively strong domestic league and often having a squad containing several European-based players, Kenya have rarely made much impact in international football. They have qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations 6 times, but have never made it past the group stages, with their most recent appearance coming in 2019. Kenya have often been hindered by administrative problems, with their FA receiving several bans from FIFA is recent decades. Their current squad is one of the strongest in their history and hopes are high that they can finally emerge as a strong footballing nation in the near future.
