This is an Adidas Kazakhstan national team 2018 home jersey featuring the number of star striker Yerkebulan Seidakhmet.

Kazakhstan joined FIFA in 1992, the year after their independence from the Soviet Union and were a member of the Asian Football Confederation until 2002 when they joined UEFA. Despite often struggling against their world-class European opponents Kazakhstan have showed signs of progress in the past decade, reaching an all-time high FIFA ranking of 83 in 2016. Kazakhstan’s domestic league has also improved considerably in recent years, with their clubs regularly competing in the UEFA Europa League group stages.

Yerkebulan Seidakhmet is one of Kazakhstan’s most promising players and the 24-year-old has scored twice for the senior national team in six appearances. In 2018, he signed with Russian Premier League side FC Ufa and joined Bulgarian giants Levski Sofia on loan in 2019. Later in 2019 Seidakhmet returned to Kazakhstan to sign with FC Kairat, where he played a key role as the club won the 2020 league title.
