French Guiana 2017-18 Away (MALOUDA #15) Jersey/Shirt

£34.99

This is a Nike French Guiana national team 2017-18 away jersey featuring the name and number of legendary winger Florent Malouda.

Florent Malouda is the greatest player to have come from French Guiana and was born and raised in the French overseas department. He has had a distinguished club career, most notably at Lyon and Chelsea, winning four consecutive Ligue 1 titles at Lyon and the 2012 UEFA Champions League at Chelsea, among a host of other honours. Malouda also has 80 international caps for France and was a regular in Les Bleus squads from his debut in 2004 until his last cap in 2012.  In 2017, he made a huge announcement in joining the French Guiana squad for the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup, their maiden appearance at the tournament. He was, however, ruled ineligible for the Gold Cup since CONCACAF rules for the tournament use FIFA eligibility guidelines and Malouda remains cap-tied to France despite French Guiana not being a FIFA member. Malouda was still selected to start French Guiana's opening Gold Cup match against Honduras, resulting in a forfeit after what was originally a 0–0 draw.

Although French Guiana are not a member of FIFA, they are a CONCACAF member and therefore are able to enter CONCACAF tournaments. Traditionally they were one of the weaker teams in CONCACAF, however they have improved immensely over the past decade, culminating in a third-place finish at the 2017 Caribbean Cup and qualification for the Gold Cup.
