Cook Islands 2015-17 Home (#10-SIMIONA) Jersey/Shirt

£34.99

This is an Onu Sportswear Cook Islands national team 2015-18 home jersey featuring the number of star striker Harlem Simiona.

With a population of just 18,000, Cook Islands is one of the smallest FIFA members and victories have been rare for the island nation. They have qualified for the OFC Nations Cup twice in 1998 & 2000, however struggled to compete against far stronger opponent. Recent results have been more promising however, with wins against Tonga and Samoa in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers leading to their highest-ever FIFA ranking of 166 in October 2015.

Harlem Simiona has been one of the Cook Island’s premier footballers in recent years, with his strong performances for local powerhouse Tupapa Maraerenga coinciding with being called up to the national team. Simiona was born in New Zealand and began his club career with Rotorua-based club Ngongotaha FC. He qualified to represent the Cook Islands through his grandfather and was called up to the national team in their most recent matches 2015 for the 2018 World Cup qualifying matches.
