This is an Airness Mali national team 2024 away jersey featuring the name and number of star midfielder Yves Bissouma.

Mali have consistently achieved strong results in the Africa Cup of Nations over the past few decades, however are yet to qualify for the World Cup despite producing an abundance of talented players, which include Seydou Keïta, Frédéric Kanouté and Mahamadou Diarra. The next generation of Malian footballers are looking promising, so a new golden era for football in the country may be on the horizon. To date, their greatest achievements have been a runners-up finish at the Africa Cup of Nations in 1972, and third place finishes in 2012 & 2013.

Yves Bissouma is one of the leading players in the current generation of Malian football and the 27-year-old is currently playing for English Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur. Starting his career at Malian club AS Real Bamako, he then moved to French Ligue 1 Lille, where his impressive performances caught the eye of EPL club Brighton & Hove Albion. After showcasing his immense talents over 4 seasons at Brighton, Bissouma was signed by Tottenham for a £30m fee in June 2022.  At international level, Bissouma has been an important part of the Mali national team squad since debuting in 2015, scoring 3 goals in 35 international matches and playing for Les Aigles at the 2017 & 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
