Horoya AC compete in the Guinée Championnat National, the first-tier of football in Guinea. They are based in Conakry, Guinea’s capital and largest city. Horoya are the most successful club in Guinea, having won the league title a record total of 17 times, including in 8 of the previous 9 league seasons. In addition, they also hold the record for the most Guinée Coupe Nationale titles, winning the cup 8 times, most recently in 2018. At continental level, Horoya have achieved some success, winning the CAF Cup Winners’ Cup in 1978, which was the precursor to the CAF Confederations Cup. They are also regular participants in the CAF Champions League, with their best result being reaching the Quarter-Finals in the 2018 & 2019 tournaments.
Daouda Camara is one of the premier midfielders in the Guinée Championnat National and has played a key role in Horoya’s recent success since joining the club in 2015. The 22-year-old has also been a regular member of the Guinea national team, playing a total of 18 international matches since debuting for the ‘Syli Nationale’ in 2015.
