Despite being located off the coast of Canada, it functions as a region of France and has the euro as their official currency. Although St. Pierre et Miquelon is eligible to join CONCACAF, with a population of just 6,000 it will be a challenge to be competitive at international level, however the territory announced its intentions to join the organisation in 2019. To date, the national team has been limited to playing in the Coupe de l'Outre-Mer as well as various friendly matches and have often suffered heavy defeats.
