This is a Hummel Bahamas national team 2021-22 away jersey featuring the number of star striker and captain Lesly St. Fleur.

The Bahamas were one of the earliest Caribbean nations to join FIFA when they became members in 1968, however the Bahamas national team have been one of the weakest in the region since their first international team in 1970. Although the population of the Bahamas is 379,000, it is comparably much larger than the majority of other Caribbean nations, with their lack of international football success largely being due to limited participation in international tournaments. The Bahamas national team did not begin to become active on a regular basis until their first appearance at the preliminary rounds for the Caribbean Cup in 1999. Since then, their only victories to date have been against Caribbean minnows including the British Virgin Islands, Bonaire and the Turks & Caicos Islands. In recent years however, the introduction of the CONCACAF Nations League has allowed the Bahamas to greatly increase the number of matches played and they have shown much improvement, including arguably their greatest ever result, a 0-0 draw against Trinidad & Tobago in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in June 2021.

Lesly St. Fleur is undoubtedly the greatest player in Bahamian football history, with the 32-year-old holding both the record for most caps and most goals for the Bahamas national team. He has scored 10 goals in 24 matches for the Bahamas since his debut in 2006 at 17 years of age. St. Fleur was born in Haiti, but moved to the Bahamas at a young age and began his club career with local side Bears FC. In 2010, he joined Canadian Soccer League club Milltown FC, where he scored 10 goals in 13 matches. After briefly returning to Bears FC, in 2012 St. Fleur joined Jamaican giants Montego Bay United, where he played a key role in their league title victories in 204 & 2016. He remained at Montego Bay until 2020 before once again re-joining Bears FC. St. Fleur is also the all-time leading scorer for the Bahamas national beach soccer team, which has consistently been one of the stronger beach soccer teams in the Caribbean region.
