This is an Adidas Kuwait national team 2025 home jersey featuring the number of star striker Yousef Nasser.
Kuwait have traditionally had a fairly strong football team despite having a population of only 4.5 million. They won the Asian Cup in 1980 and qualified for the World Cup in 1982 in addition to winning the Gulf Cup on 10 occasions. Recent years however have been more difficult for Al-Azraq with FIFA suspending the Kuwait Football Association three times since 2007 due to government interference in the national football association, including a nearly two-year ban starting in October 2015. They made a return to international football in 2017 when they hosted the 2017 Gulf Cup and have shown steady progress since then, having secured qualification for the AFC Asian Cup in 2027 after a 12 year absence.
Yousef Nasser has been a key member of the Kuwait squad since making his international debut back in 2009. The veteran striker is the third highest goalscorer and fourth most-capped player in the history of the Kuwait national team, having played a total of 129 international matches and scored 58 goals. Yousef Nasser has spent almost his entire career at club level in the Kuwaiti Premier League with Kazma, Qadsia and current club Kuwait SC, expect for brief spells with UAE club Ajman SC in 2013-14 and Omani club Al-Nahda in 2017-18.
