South Sudan 2017-19 Home (ATAK LUAL #9) Jersey/Shirt

£29.99

This is an AMS Clothing South Sudan national team 2017-19 home jersey featuring the name and number of star striker Atak Lual.

Atak Lual has been one of South Sudan’s most prolific players since the country gained independence in 2011. He has been a regular member of the South Sudan national team since his debut in 2014 and has scored 4 goals in 13 matches for the Bright Stars. Atak is best remembered for scoring the winning goal in South Sudan’s shock 1-0 win against Equatorial Guinea in 2015, which was the first competitive victory in their history. At club level, he has spent his entire career in Sudan since first joining Sudanese Premier League club Al Mirghani Kassala in 2009. Atak most notably had a successful spell with Al-Ahly Shendi from 2014-18, where he played a key role in their 2017 Sudan Cup title, with the club regularly finishing in the top 4 of the league during his spell.

The South Sudan national team played their first international match in 2012 and despite having almost no footballing infrastructure as well as a squad comprised of mostly players from the domestic league, they have shown considerable promise. South Sudan’s breakthrough achievement was reaching the Quarter-Finals of the 2015 CECAFA Cup, where they defeated Djibouti and Malawi in addition to drawing twice against Sudan who later knocked them out on penalties. With their youth teams displaying immense potential as well as a large number of professional players from their diaspora that could be called upon, the future looks bright for South Sudan.
