Angola 2024-25 Home (GELSON DALA #10) Jersey/Shirt

£34.99

This is a Lacatoni Angola national team 2024-25 home jersey featuring the name and number of star striker Gelson Dala.

The Angola national team have had periods of great success throughout their history, having achieved several major highlights since first official international match following independence in 1976. Angola’s most notable achievement came in 2006 when they qualified for their first and only FIFA World Cup after only losing one game in the qualifiers ahead of favorites Nigeria. In the tournament, they drew against Mexico and Iran but were eliminated in the group stage after a narrow loss to Portugal. In the Africa Cup of Nations, Angola has participated ten times since their debut in 1996. Their best performances have been reaching the quarter-finals in 2008, 2010 (as hosts), and 2023. Regionally, they’ve won the COSAFA Cup four times, most recently in 2024. With a strong squad filled with both youth talent and some experienced stars, hopes are high that Angola can make a return to the FIFA World Cup in the near future.

Gelson Dala has been Angola’s leading striker over the past decade and has played a key role in the resurgence of Angola’s national team in recent years. Dala began his senior career with Angolan giants Primeiro de Agosto, where he emerged as the top scorer in the 2016 Girabola season with 23 goals, contributing to the team’s championship victory. His performance led to a move to Portuguese giants Sporting Lison in 2017. During his time there, he played for both the main squad and Sporting B, and had loan spells at Rio Ave and Antalyaspor. In 2020, he joined Rio Ave permanently before transferring to Qatari club Al-Wakrah in 2022. Internationally, Dala debuted for Angola in 2015, scoring twice in his first match. He has since earned over 50 caps and scored more than 20 goals for the national team. Notably, he was Angola’s top scorer in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, netting four goals and helping the team reach the quarter-finals.
