This is a Puma Togo national team 2019 home jersey featuring the name and number of legendary striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
Adebayor is the greatest player in the history of Togolese football and has had a prolific club career with some of the world’s top clubs including Arsenal, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur. He debuted for the Togo national team in 2000 as a 16-year-old and has been instrumental in the tiny West African nation establishing themselves as a genuine force in the continent. Adebayor has scored 32 goals in 85 international matches for Togo, making him their all-time leading scorer.
Togo had rarely achieved much international success until the late 1990s when they became a regular qualifier for the Africa Cup of Nations. They made history by qualifying for their first appearance at the World Cup in 2006, when they shocked Senegal to finish on top of their qualifying group. Despite losing every match at the World Cup, they performed admirably in a tough group that included South Korea, Switzerland and France. Since then, they have not reached the same level of success, however in 2013 they did achieve their best-ever finish at AFCON when they reached the Quarter-Finals.
