£29.99

This is a Macron Republic of Congo national team 2020-21 home jersey featuring the name and number of star midfielder Hardy Binguila.

The Republic of Congo have a proud footballing history, having won the Africa Cup of Nations in 1972, being the smallest country by population to have won the tournament. Their squad often features a number of players playing their club football in the top tiers of Europe; however, they have often struggled to perform consistently despite having periods of success. Their notable achievements in recent years have been reaching the Quarter-Finals of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, as well as progressing to the Quarter-Finals of both the 2018 & 2020 African Nations Championship. They are yet to qualify for a FIFA World Cup despite getting close on many occasions, most notably in qualification for the 1998 World Cup where they came a win of reaching the finals, however suffered a 1-0 loss to South Africa in their final match.

Hardy Binguila is one of the top players in Congo Premier League in recent years and has been one of the few locally-based players to be regularly called-up to the national team. The 24-year-old midfielder began his club career with the academy club ACNFF before being signed by Congolese giants Diables Noirs in 2013 and then onto CARA Brazzaville in 2014. After showing strong potential, Binguila was signed by French club AJ Auxerre in 2015 and spent three seasons with their ‘B’ team, however did not break into their first-team squad. In 2017, he signed with Albanian powerhouse KF Tirana before returning to Diables Noirs in 2018, where he has been a key part of their recent success. Binguila made his debut for the Republic of Congo national team in 2013 and has scored 5 goals in 22 matches for the Diables Rouges.
