Mauritania 2021-22 Home (ADAMA BA #10) Jersey/Shirt

This is an AB Sport Mauritania national team 2021-22 home jersey featuring the name and number of star winger Adama Ba.

Adama Ba has been one of the key members of the Mauritania squad in recent years and has been present throughout their rise from world minnows to regular AFCON qualifiers. Adama was born in Mauritania but began his youth career in France with Ligue 1 club Stade Brestois, where he made his first-team debut in the 2011/12 season. After 4 seasons with Stade Brestois, Adama joined SC Bastia in 2013 and later had stints with Ligue 2 clubs Chamois Niortais & AJ Auxerre. In 2017 he signed with Gazişehir Gaziantep in Turkey and has since has one-season spells with Turkish 1. Lig club Giresunspor, emerging Moroccan side RS Berkane and Greek Super League club PAS Lamia. At international level, Adama has won 46 caps and scored 6 goals for Mauritania since his debut in 2013, with the 28-year-old being selected as captain for a number of matches in recent years.

Mauritania's national team have undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years, having gone from one of the world's lowest ranked teams in early 2013 with a FIFA ranking of 206 to a ranking of 81 by mid-2017 and securing qualification to their maiden Africa Cup of Nations in 2019. In their debut appearance at AFCON, 'Al-Murabitun' performed admirably, drawing to Tunisia and Angola, however were unable to advance past the group stages. Mauritania backed this up by qualifying for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, finishing above Burundi and the Central African Republic in their qualification group. With a squad comprised predominantly of players from a range of leagues in Europe as well as an improving domestic competition, hopes are high that the level of Mauritanian football will continue to improve.
