This is an Adidas Mauritania national team 2018 home jersey featuring the name and number of star midfielder Hacen El Ide.
Hacen is one of the leading players in Mauritania's emerging golden generation and is among several Mauritanian players to play their club football in Spain. Despite being only 21 years old, Hacen has been capped 37 times for his national team, having played seven games with the senior national team before the age of 16. He was scouted at a youth tournament in Spain in 2014 and subsequently signed with La Liga club Levante. In 2018 he then signed with fellow La Liga club Real Valladolid and made his first-time debut in April 2019.
Mauritania's national team have undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years, having gone from one of the world's lowest ranked teams in early 2013 with a FIFA ranking of 206 to a ranking of 81 by mid-2017 and securing qualification to their maiden Africa Cup of Nations in 2018. In their debut appearance at AFCON 2019, 'Al-Murabitun' performed admirably, drawing to Tunisia and Angola, however we unable to advance past the group stages. With many of their top youth players now competing in Europe's premier leagues, the future is very bright for Mauritania football.
