Gambia 2015-16 Home (#10- BARROW) Jersey/Shirt
This is an Adidas Gambia national team 2015-16 home jersey featuring the number of star winger Modou Barrow.
Barrow has been one of the Gambia’s most prolific players over the past decade andd made history in 2014 when he became the first-ever Gambian footballer to play in the English Premier League after signing with Swansea City. He started his club career in Sweden, making his name at first-tier club Östersund, before moving to England, where he played with Swansea, Nottingham Forest, Blackburn Rover, Leeds United and Reading. He made his international debut in 2015 and has since played 18 matches for the Gambia national team.
Due to their small size and population of only 2 million, The Gambia had rarely achieved much international success, until their breakthrough Africa Cup of Nations qualification in 2021. Prior to this, they had never qualified for a major tournament, however defied all expectations to reach the quarter-finals of AFCON 2021, defeating continental heavyweights Tunisia and Guinea in the process. With their current squad featuring a host of young players competing in Europe, it is expected that results will continue to improve over the coming years.
