$44.00
This is an Adidas Gabon national team 2018 home jersey featuring the name and number of star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Gabon traditionally wear yellow as their home jersey, however the senior team has worn this white design in several home matches, including their 2019 AFCON qualifier against South Sudan in October 2018.
Although Gabon is a relatively small country with a population of only 2.1 million, it has consistently achieved relatively strong results since qualifying for their first Africa Cup of Nations in 1994. Gabon are now regular AFCON qualifiers, having participated in 8 of Africa’s main international football competition and they have reached the Quarter-Finals twice- in 2012 when they co-hosted the tournament and also in 1996. Gabon’s squad usually comprises predominantly of European-based players, with many of their team being based in the top tiers of French football.
Aubameyang is Gabon’s greatest-ever player and also one of Europe’s premier strikers. He started his career at AC Milan before breaking through at Ligue 1 club Saint-Étienne. He then signed with Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund where he scored an impressive 98 goals in 144 matches for the club. In 2018 he made a highly anticipated move to EPL club Arsenal in a then-club-record fee of £56 million. After 4 ½ seasons at Arsenal, in which he was regularly amongst the top-scorers in the EPL, Aubameyang joined La Liga giants Barcelona in February 2022. Despite scoring an impressive 11 goals in 18 matches for Barcelona, Aubameyang left the club after just 7 months to return to the EPL, signing with Chelsea on a two-year contract. Aubameyang is currently the all-time leading scorer for Les Panthères with 30 goals from 72 international matches.
