Gabon 2019-20 Home (LEMINA #10) Jersey/Shirt

This is a Kappa Gabon national team 2019-20 home jersey featuring the name and number of star midfielder Mario Lemina.

Although Gabon is a relatively small country with a population of only 2.1 million, it has consistently achieved relatively strong results since qualifying for their first Africa Cup of Nations in 1994. Gabon are now regular AFCON qualifiers, having participated in 8 of Africa’s main international football competition and they have reached the Quarter-Finals twice- in 2012 when they co-hosted the tournament and also in 1996. Gabon’s squad usually comprises predominantly of European-based players, with many of their team being based in the top tiers of French football.

Mario Lemina is one of Gabon’s highest-profile footballers and the 28-year-old has played his club football in some of Europe’s top clubs. Lemina was born in Gabon, but spent most of his youth in France and is an academy product of Ligue 1 club Lorient. He made his senior debut for Lorient in 2012 and his immediate impact saw him acquired by Marseille for €4 million in 2013. After initially struggling to settle in the team, Lemina has a breakout 2014-15 season that led him to be signed by Italian powerhouse Juventus in 2016 for €9.5 million. After two seasons at Juventus, he signed for English Premier League club Southampton for a club record fee of £15.4 million and has since played on loan at Turkish giants Galatasaray and fellow EPL club Fulham. At international level, Lemina has been a key part of the Gabon squad since making his debut in 2015 and has scored 3 goals in 19 matches for ‘Les Panthères.’
