Cuba 2015-16 Away (#9- REYES) Jersey/Shirt
£29.99
This is a Joma Cuba national team 2015-16 away jersey featuring the number of star striker Maikel Reyes.
Cuba’s national team have a proud history, with their first major success being reaching the Quarter-Finals of the 1938 FIFA World Cup. Although they have not returned to the World Cup since then, Cuba have remained a relatively strong team, regularly qualifying for the CONCACAF Gold Cup, where they have reached the Quarter-Finals three times (in 2003, 2013 & 2015). Cuba have also had success at the Caribbean Cup, having won the 2012 edition and finishing in the top four in every tournament they have competed in. Cuba would have surely achieved greater results if not for the defection of many of their top players to the United States, some of which are playing in the MLS.
Maikel Reyes is one of the highest-profile players in the current generation of Cuban football, with the 27-year-old being a key member of the national team in recent years. In January 2016, he became the first Cuban footballer (along with Abel Martínez) to sign for a foreign club, when he joined Mexican club Cruz Azul Premier. After two seasons in Mexico, Reyes returned to Cuba and signed with Villa Clara in 2017 before returning to hometown club Pinar del Río in 2018. At international level he has scored 3 goals in 23 matches for Cuba since debuting for the national team in 2012.
