Ceramica Cleopatra FC compete in the Egyptian Premier League and are based in the city of Giza. The club was established in 2006 by prominent Egyptian businessman and politician Mohamed M. Abou El Enein, who is the founder of the major Egyptian conglomerate Cleopatra Group. After beginning in Egypt’s 4th tier in the 2007/08 season, Cleopatra FC quickly rose up the ranks of Egyptian football and eventually gained promotion to the Premier League for the 2020-21 season.
Ahmed Yasser Rayan is one of the highest-profile players in the current Cleopatra FC squad and joined the club on loan from Egyptian giants Al Ahly for the remainder of the 2020-21 season. The talented 23-year-old striker is a product of the Al Ahly youth team and made his senior debut for the club in 2017. After limited first-team opportunities, Rayan joined El Gouna on loan for the 2019-20 season and impressed, scoring 13 goals in 41 matches. After strong form with Cleopatra FC, Rayan was called-up to the Egypt national team in 2021 and made his international debut for Egypt in the AFCON qualifier against Comoros in March 2021.
