This is a UCAN Sports Association Sportive du Port (most commonly known as AS Port Club) 2017-18 home jersey featuring the number of star midfielder Abdi Idleh Hamza.

AS Port Club compete in the Championnat National de la 1ère Division, the top tier of football in Djibouti. AS Port Club are based in Djibouti City, the capital and only major city in the country. They are owned by Djibouti Ports & Free Zones Authority, the operator of the Port of Djibouti, which is one of Africa’s busiest ports. The club has traditionally been one of the strongest in Djibouti, winning the league title 4 times- in 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2019. They have also won the Coupe de Djibouti 5 times, most recently in 2013.

Abdi Idleh Hamza is one of the top footballers in Djibouti and has played an integral role in the incredible improvement of the national team over the past few years. He is best remembered in Djibouti for scoring the winning goal in Djibouti’s historic 2-1 victory against Eswatini in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, with Djibouti winning the tie on aggregate and reaching the second round of World Cup qualifiers for the first time in their history. At club level, Hamza has spent his entire career in Djibouti’s domestic league, initially playing for Djibouti Télécom before joining AS Port Club in 2017.
