Al-Khor SC compete in the Qatar Stars League and are based in Al-Khor, a coastal city in northern Qatar that is one of Qatar’s largest cities outside of the capital Doha. Al-Khor SC were established in 1961 and have mostly been a mid-table club in Qatar’s top tier, with their strongest period being in the mid-2000s, where they won the 2005 Qatar Crown Prince Cup and the 2002 Qatar Sheikh Jassem Cup. They have also appeared in the GCC Champions League on 3 occasions, which included reaching the semi-finals in the 2012 edition.
Tiago Bezerra’s career has included stints for clubs in Belgium, Turkey, Brazil, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan and Qatar. Throughout his career the Brazilian striker has rarely stayed at a club for more than one season, however he has consistently performed strongly wherever he has played, with his stint at Al-Khor being one of his many career highlights. Tiago joined Al-Khor midway through the 2018-19 season and scored a remarkable 6 goals in 7 matches to help the club narrowly avoid a relegation play-off. The following season, he was once again a key contributor with 9 goals in 21 matches before joining fellow QSL club Al-Sailiya for the 2020-21 season.
