This is a Mouj Al-Hilal 2019 home jersey featuring the name and number of star midfielder Salman Al-Faraj.

Salman Al-Faraj is one of Al-Hilal’s greatest players in the modern era and the 33-year-old has spent his entire career with the Riyadh-based club. He joined their youth team at age 15 and made his debut with the senior team in 2008 at the age of 19. Since then, Al-Faraj has won 7 league titles with Al-Hilal and was also a key part of their squad that won the 2019 & 2021 AFC Champions League titles. Al-Faraj has also had a prolific international career with the Saudi Arabia national team and has won 71 caps since his debut in 2012. He was a member of the Saudi Arabia team that competed at the 2018 FIFA World Cup and he scored in their final group-stage match, which was a 2-1 victory against Egypt. He then went on to captain Saudi Arabia at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, however suffered an injury in their famous 2-1 victory over Argentina in the opening match, forcing him to be substituted at half-time and eventually miss the rest of the tournament.

Al-Hilal are the most successful club in Saudi Arabia, having won the Saudi league title a record 17 times and the Crown Prince Cup on 13 occasions. They have also won 6 Asian Football Confederation trophies, including the AFC Champions League in 1991 and 2000. Al-Hilal are one of the most supported clubs in the Middle East and have a passionate supporter base, with matches against local rivals Al-Ittihad and Al-Nassr being fiercely contested battles amongst both players and fans. After recently experiencing heartbreak in the AFC Champions League, finishing runners-up in both 2014 & 2017, they finally succeeded in winning their breakthrough title victory in 2019, when they defeated Japanese club Urawa Red Diamonds 3-0 on aggregate.
