St. Pierre et Miquelon is a self-governing overseas territory of France, situation in the north-western Atlantic Ocean near the Canadian province of Newfoundland. Despite being located off the coast of Canada, it functions as a region of France and has the euro as their official currency. Although St. Pierre et Miquelon is eligible to join CONCACAF, with a population of just 6,000 it will be a challenge to be competitive at international level, however the territory announced its intentions to join the organisation in 2019.
