This is a Macron Niger national team 2023 home jersey featuring the name and number of star forward Boubacar Hainikoye.

Although they are one of the less-successful sides in the strong West African region, Niger’s national team have slowly begun to establish themselves since their maiden Africa Cup of Nations appearance in 2012. This was followed by another AFCON qualification in 2013 and as well as consistent performances in the African Nations Championship (CHAN), where they have qualified for 4 of the past 6 tournaments and incredibly finishing in 4th place overall in the 2022 edition after upsetting continental giants Cameroon and Ghana. Niger have also shown strong growth at youth level, with their U-17 national team reaching the knockout stage of the 2017 U-17 FIFA World Cup in their first appearance.

Boubacar Hainikoye is one of the leading players in the current generation of Nigerien football, with the 24-year-old cementing his spot as a regular member of the national team in recent years. Hainikoye began his senior club career in 2016 with US Gendamerie National in Niger’s Super Ligue, with his promising performances leading to a move to Ghanian champions Aduana Stars in May 2018. He was then signed by Algerian giants CR Belouizdad in 2019 and was a member of their 2019-20 title-winning squads. The following year he joined fellow Algerian club NC Magra before returning to former club US Gendamerie National in 2022. He was a key member of the Niger squad that finished in fourth place in CHAN 2022, having won a total of 21 caps and scored 3 goals for the national team including a famous goal to secure a shock victory against Ghana in the Quarter-Finals of CHAN 2022.
