£34.99

XXL

This is a Nike Hong Kong national team 2023-24 home jersey featuring the number of star striker Michael Udebuluzor.

Hong Kong has a rich footballing history, having played their first international match over 100 years ago and becoming a FIFA member in 1954. Despite being a Special Administrative Region of China since 1997, Hong Kong have maintained a national football team and regularly play against China. Although Hong Kong have never qualified for the World Cup, their most celebrated victory was in the 1986 World Cup qualifiers, where they recorded an historic 2-1 win against China in Beijing to advance to the next stage of qualifiers and subsequently knock-out China. After several decades of struggles, Hong Kong have re-emerged on the international stages over the past 10 years and have consistently achieved relatively strong results. This improvement has culminated in their qualification for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup, their first appearance at the tournament since 1968.

Michael Udebuluzor is arguably the most exciting prospect to have emerged from Hong Kong in the modern era, with the 19-year-old having already become a regular member of the national team squad as well as being one of the very few footballers from the territory to have signed a professional contract in Europe. Udebuluzor is the son of former Nigerian professional footballer Cornelius Udebuluzor. He was born in Hong Kong while his father was playing for Rangers in the Hong Kong First Division League and in 2023 it was announced that he had received his HKSAR passport after giving up his Nigerian passport, making him eligible to represent Hong Kong internationally. After initially playing youth football for local giants Kitchee, Udebuluzor moved to Germany to continue his youth career and joined the FC Ingolstadt 04 youth team in 2020 before signing with their senior team in 2022. At international level, he has scored 2 goals in 9 matches for the Hong Kong national team since making his debut in 2023 and featured in all three of their matches as Hong Kong competed in the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
