This is a Macron Petro Atlético de Luanda 2022-23 home jersey featuring the number of star striker Tiago Azulão.

Brazilian striker Tiago (commonly known as Azulão) joined the Angolan club in 2016 from Brasileirão Serie A side Fortaleza. Tiago had an impressive first season at Petro Luanda, scoring 9 goals in 15 matches. He then went on to become the leading striker in the Girabola, being the leagues’ top-scorer in the 2017 & 2018 seasons. He had a brief spell with Olympiakos Nicosia in the Cypriot First Division in the 2019-20 season, but later returned to Petro Luanda, where he has since won his 3rd league top scorer award, with 16 goals in the 2020-21 season.

Atlético Petróleos de Luanda (better known as Petro Luanda) compete in the Girabola, the top tier of Angolan football and are based in Angola’s capital city Luanda. The club was founded in 1980 following the merger of three clubs- Grupo Sonangol; Clube Atlético de Luanda and Benfica de Luanda, with the organization competing in a range of different sports, with their basketball team also being one of the strongest in Angola. They are funded by the state-owned oil company Group Sonangol, which has been the key driver of Angola’s economic growth in recent decades, with the country now Africa’s biggest oil producer. Petro Luanda are Angola's most successful club, having won the league title a total of 16 times, with their 2022 league title breaking the long drought in the club’s history after having not won the Girabola since 2009. In addition, they have won the Taça de Angola a record 12 times, including their most recent title in the 2020-21 season. Petro Luanda recently achieved their best finish in the CAF Champions League in the 2021-22 tournament, reaching the semi-finals after eliminating Egyptian giants Zamalek in the group stage and then defeating South African powerhouse Mamelodi Sundowns in the Quarter-Finals.
